Terms of Service
These terms apply to the HCC2D Decoder Android application, the HCC2D Decoder iOS application, and the HCC2D website. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.
No Warranty
The HCC2D Decoder app and the HCC2D website are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app or website will be available at all times, free of errors, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Decoded Content
The app decodes QR and HCC2D codes found in your environment. We are not responsible for the content encoded in those codes, including but not limited to URLs, text, or other data. You are solely responsible for how you act on decoded information. We recommend caution when opening links or acting on content from unknown sources.
Generated Codes
The HCC2D website allows users to generate QR and HCC2D barcode images. We are not responsible for how generated codes are used, distributed, or interpreted by third parties. You agree not to use the generator to encode illegal, harmful, or misleading content.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website, including but not limited to damages resulting from decoded content, generated codes, or interruptions to service.
API Access
Access to the HCC2D REST API requires an API key obtained through the official request form. Keys are issued at our discretion and are personal. You must not share or redistribute them.
API usage is subject to rate limits: 30 requests per minute per key and 60 requests per minute per IP address. Repeated failed authentication attempts will result in a temporary IP lockout. We reserve the right to revoke keys that are misused, shared, or used in violation of these terms without prior notice.
Generated images are retained on the server for up to 1 hour. You are responsible for downloading and storing any images you need within that window.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the app, website, and API only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the service. You must not use automated tools to circumvent rate limits or abuse the key request process.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app or website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
